Residents of Kachibora in Cherangany constituency, Trans Nzoia County were on Sunday morning left in shock after a body of a murdered security guard was found hanging inside a latrine in the area.
Dismus Kimutai Cheruiyot, a security guard at Cherangany Dairy Group was found murdered inside a female latrine by a night security guard who was reporting on duty.
The guard is said to have found the body of the deceased hanging on the roof of the toilet.
Cherangany Sub-County Police Commander Okumu Dullo who confirmed the incident said that they are yet to establish the motive behind the murder.
Okumu has however appealed to the locals to be calm while police continue with the investigations to unravel the gruesome murder of Cheruiyot.
“We are asking anybody with information that can lead to the arrest of the culprits to come forward and help us with the investigations. We want to ensure that just is served to the deceased and his family,” Okumu said.
“DCI officers have launched investigations into the incident and preliminary reports indicate that he (the deceased) might have been murdered somewhere else before his body was taken to the latrine where it was hanged,” he added.
