The National Police Service (NPS) has dismissed police recruitment announcement being circulated on social media.

The NPS said the announcement is fake and should be treated as a scam.

“Fraudsters and conmen prey on unsuspecting Kenyans to defraud them through such scams,” NPS said in a statement.

NPS said members of the public should also trust announcements made through leading local dailies.

“NPS recruitment announcements are done through mainstream media and not through online publications,” the statement added.

NPS further said it also uses its website and that of National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to announce recruitment.

“All police stations and commands shall be notified of the same, and the public can verify such information easily.

“Be aware of online and other related scams. Don’t be a victim.”
