Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Sicily Kariuki is the latest member of the cabinet to announce her resignation from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

Speaking in Nairobi during a press conference, the CS said she is leaving the Water Ministry to vie for the Nyandarua Governor seat.

The CS who revealed that today is her last day in the office said that her decision to run for the governor seat was informed by demands from Nyandarua.

Sicily said she has a vision and leadership skills that would revive the economic development of the county.

“My decision to vie follows months of listening to the people of Nyandarua who have shown their trust in me,” she said.

CS Sicily said that she will be seeking to unseat Governor Francis Kimemia under the Jubilee Party ticket. She further indicated that she will be joining any political outfit that President Uhuru supports in the coming elections.

“I want to assure you that I will be where President Uhuru Kenyatta will be and I hope that will be Jubilee,” she said.
