Singer Esther Akoth alias Akothee has today shared finer details of her wedding day.

While sharing a wedding photo on social media, the artiste disclosed that she held the wedding since her then-husband was travelling to the Bahamas and he required a marriage certificate to invite them(her and the kids) abroad.

She was therefore left with no option but to do the wedding to acquire the much-needed marriage certificate.

“I was broken before I was built! On my big wedding day! We had to do this wedding because my husband was to travel to the Bahamas! He wanted to go with our marriage certificate so it will be easy for him to invite us. I was looking forward to stepping into AMERICA like this,” she wrote.

According to Akothee, ‘her big wedding’ to formerly unite her with her first husband and the father of her three daughters Jared Okwello was an extremely low-budget affair and reportedly cost only Ksh2,000.

Their major expense was hiring a car which they got from a friend.

“My wedding cost Ksh2000. We borrowed just one car from a friend. We were very much in marriage, we brought up our kids on a very strong church background.

‘The only thing I don’t understand about this photo is (Why was I sad? On my big day),” she quipped.
