Esther Wambui, the woman whose body was found stashed inside a suitcase near GSU Recce station on Monday evening died of strangulation, autopsy report has revealed.

In more shocking details, the autopsy that was conducted at City Mortuary in Nairobi on Friday, January 21, revealed that she might have been raped before being hit with a blunt object.

Already, samples have been taken for further analysis to establish whether she was sexually abused.

During the postmortem, Wambui’s father Samuel Mbugua and her husband Joseph Ngige were present.

Addressing the media on Thursday, January 20, Ngige said that they were always happy and wondered why someone could want to end the life of Wambui.

According to Ngige who works with a local mattress company located in Kiambu County, they last saw each other at Ruiru Railways terminus while she was leaving for work.

He further said that in the evening he was shocked that Wambui who works in a hotel within Ruiru was not home.

So far police are yet to arrest any suspect even as the family seeks justice for their kin.
