A former news anchor at Switch TV, Robert Ouma, has revealed that he now works as a matatu tout after losing his lucrative job in December 2021.

This follows the shutdown of the Kenya Red Cross Society-owned station which saw most of the employees lose their jobs.

Taking to Instagram, Ouma, who described himself as the cleanest in his job, disclosed that he now operates along the Rongai route.

“An office is just a name, let’s work. Tout of the week. Rongai massive,” he wrote in one of his posts.

In a different post looking dapper, he added: “I’m about to close work for the day…one should strive to do what they can because this is the situation. An office is just a name and the money is just as sweet.”

Ouma maintained that it doesn’t matter where one works as long as you make an honest living.

He however noted that despite getting his new gig, he is still looking for other opportunities in the media industry.
