Police in Limuru have recovered bhang believed to be worth millions of shillings after the vehicle which was transporting the same was involved in a road accident.

The incident occurred along the Mutarakwa-Thogoto road on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Residents of Ndeiya rushed to the scene of the accident after a loud crash occurred only to find one of the vehicles loaded with bhang.

They immediately alerted the area police stationed at the nearby Ndeiya police station who later towed the vehicle to the Tigoni police station.

No arrest was made owing to the fact that the occupants of the car, believed to be two made a dramatic escape soon after the minor accident.

“The driver of the vehicle and his passenger fled immediately when locals arrived at the scene”, former Ndeiya MCA Nelson Munga said.

Area OCPD Elaine Mola who was present during the incident declined to address the media on the pretext that she was not in her official uniform.

A police source said that the vehicle’s registration numbers seemed tampered with adding that the matter would be raised up with National Transport and Safety Authority Act (NTSA).
