Renowned blogger Edgar Obare has on Thursday 6, 2021 announced that social media platform, Instagram, has disabled his backup account several months after his main account was deactivated.
Obare stated on his Twitter account that he has since appealed the deactivation of his backup account by the microblogging platform.
“Good morning, so Instagram today decided to disable my account Bnnke on Instagram. We are working to figure out what to do next, as we appeal this decision with Instagram. See you soon,” he tweeted.
The popular blogger, famed for his daring exposès, lost his main account after he ran an exposè that implicated flamboyant celebrities and notable political figures allegedly involved in the wash wash business.
The exposè roped in several media personalities, businessmen living large on social media and city lawyers. It has not however been established why the Zuckerberg owned platform resorted to deactivating Obare’s accounts.
Instagram often disables accounts deemed to have breached the service’s community guidelines. There are however options for users to get their account reinstated again.
