Chiloba’s appointment was announced on Tuesday September 27 through a press statement by the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya.

In the statement, the Board denoted that they appointed the ex-IEBC CEO after a competitive recruitment process for the position that remained vacant after the retirement of former Director General Francis Wangusi.

The Board outlined the merits of Chiloba that it states, gave him a upper hand over other applicants.

“Mr. Chiloba holds an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Masters of Arts degree from Central European University in Hungary, a Masters of Science degree in Program Management from University of Oxford in the United Kingdom,” the statement outlined.
