The family of the late Orie Rogo Manduli has announced that her burial has been postponed.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the family said that they were forced to make the move after the politician’s eldest daughter Eng Elizabeth Rogo was admitted to Nairobi Hospital where she is being treated.
The family’s spokesperson Gor Semelang’o said the burial had been postponed for a week.
“The family has considered the situation and decided to postpone the upcoming funeral services by a week to give Elizabeth room to recuperate and be able to attend her mother’s send-off,” Semelang’o said.
He said that it will only be in order if they give the engineer time to heal so that she attends the burial of her mother and witness how her body will be laid to rest.
In the new schedule, a mass will be held on Tuesday, October 5, as from 12 pm to 2 pm at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
On Wednesday, October 6, as from 2 pm to 4 pm there will be another celebration mass at St Stephen’s Cathedral Church in Kisumu.
On Saturday, October 9, as from 10 am there will be a Celebration mass and burial at Tondorie Estate in Kitale.
This also means that Orie Rogo Manduli (ORM) Fundraising Committee has gone ahead to extend its activities and will hold a major event on Saturday, October 2 at 4pm.
The main fundraiser will be held at the residence of the Late Amb Orie Rogo- Manduli at Ardwyn House (Riverside).
The deceased died at her Riverside home, Nairobi on September 8, 2021.
Samuel Ndambuki, who is Manduli’s Personal Assistant said that she collapsed and died as she is as preparing to go for a dental check-up.
Before her death, she had been admitted to the Nairobi Hospital with kidney failure but she was later discharged.
She was born in Maseno in Kisumu County and all her parents were teachers.
