A woman in Kericho is likely to face charges of false accusations after she allegedly accused her area chief of repeatedly raping her.

However, after further investigations, it was discovered by detectives she falsely accused her area chief of forcing himself on her.

The revelations come days after her husband discovered that the two have been having a clandestine sexual affair since August 2021.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) a serious case was lodged at Londiani police station on Tuesday afternoon.

“The woman from Kimasian location was accompanied by her husband alleged that the area chief had stormed her homestead earlier in the day and ordered her out of the house,” the police report seen by K24 Digital reads.

The woman alleged that when she obliged, the chief then forced her into a nearby maize plantation, where he raped her repeatedly.

“Detectives launched immediate investigations into the serious allegations against the area chief, who has since been detained,” the detectives said.

According to investigations done by Londiani detectives, the woman and the chief had been having an affair, which spiralled out of control after the woman’s husband toppled onto text messages between the two.

The detectives also uncovered how the said woman would receive money soon after the two allegedly engaged in sexual activities in the short-lived affair.
