Police were on Saturday, September 25 forced to lobby tear gas canisters within the city centre as they engaged bodaboda riders who were demonstrating over the death of one of them.

K24 Digital has established that the unidentified bodaboda rider was shot along the busy Kirinyaga Road after differing with police officers.

Speaking to the media the boda boda riders who camped outside Kamkunji police station said that the rider was shot by a plain cloth police officer after he failed to give the officer a bribe.

“He was demanding a bribe and when they could not agree, the officer reached his pocket and shot him,” Victor Odongo a bodaboda rider said.

The bodaboda riders are accompanied by Starehe Member of Parliament (MP) Charles Njagua alias Jaguar in their riot.
