The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has banned the documentary titled ‘I Am Samuel’, saying it promotes gayism in Kenya.

KFCB acting CEO Christopher Wambua said the producers of the film promoted same sex marriage as a way of life.

“The film tries to influence the viewer into believing that the older generation that was once against LGBTQ+ is slowly buying into the practice and accepting same-sex marriage as a normal way of life,’’ he said.

The video shows marriage of two men and the producer dedicating it to the gay community.

The two men dedicated their marriage to God which Wambua said is against the values of Christianity.

“Worse still, the production (demeans) Christianity as two gay men in the film purport to conduct a religious marriage invoking the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Wambua stated.

He added: “On the basis of religion as a classifiable element, the board finds the documentary not only blasphemous but also an attempt to use religion to advocate same sex marriage.”

The CEO said the documentary underwent board review between September 8 and 17.
