Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have today arrested two sex pests who allegedly gang-raped a mentally handicapped woman in Lamu County.

In a statement, the two Shadrack Murimi Maina, 45 and Hiribae Kokane, 43, allegedly tricked the lady into thinking they were good samaritans.

It is said that on the fateful night, the two were on a night patrol accompanied by a Nyumba Kumi elder Samuel Ngumi when they run into the middle-aged woman in an abandoned house in Sina Mbio area.

“The sex perverts, accompanied by a Nyumba Kumi elder Samuel Ngumi, were on foot patrol when they bumped into the middle-aged woman preparing tea in the crime-prone area,” part of the statement reads.

The elder who feared for the woman’s safety asked the two men to watch over her while he left to seek help.

Upon his return, Ngumi was shocked to find Murimi in the act of raping the intellectually disabled woman.

The other man had already fled the scene after taking his turn.

Ngumi later rescued the lady and quickly alerted the police who then arrested the culprits.

The lady has since been taken to the hospital and is currently undergoing medical examination and treatment.
