The Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company Limited announced on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, that they will shut down water supply along Waiyaki way road from Kabete Water Treatment works.

According to an official letter shared on its social media platforms, the water company said the shutdown has been necessitated by the ongoing construction of the Expressway Highway.

The shutdown, they say, will facilitate interconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline along Waiyaki way road from the Safaricom building to the junction of Waiyaki way road and Prof Wangari Maathai road.

The disruption is set to run from 6:00 am Thursday, September 9, 2021, to 6:00 am Friday, September 10, 2021. The company’s managing director explains in the notice that, the shut down will enable release of the road section between Old Safaricom house, the junction of Waiyaki way road and Prof Wangari Maathai Road to the Expressway Road contractor.

The major areas earmarked for the disruption include; estates along Waiyaki Way, Rhapta Road, Parklands Road, Mpaka road, Chiromo Lane, Manyani road and Church Road.

Other affected regions are; Highridge and Westlands areas, Muguga Green Estate, Nairobi School, and Kabete barracks. MP Shah Hospital, Sarit Centre and surrounding estates are also set to experience dry taps.

The company has appealed to its customers in the affected regions to use the available water sparingly as they work towards restoring the supply.
