Police in Kitui County have arrested a fellow officer who drew his fire arm during a family squable.
In a police report seen by K24 Digital, constable Shadrack Munyao drew his fire arm after he disagreed with his wife Christine Mutethya.
“It was reported by one Christine Mutethya of mobile no. 07***9 that today at about 2000 hrs while at home with her husband who is a police officer no. 90 pc Shadrack Munyao was on conflict in domestic matters,” part of the police report read in part.
According to police, Munyao drew his fire arm when he disagreed with his wife.
“Due to misunderstanding the officer drew the pistol which he had holsted, make browniing s/no.289550 with one magazine loaded with twelve rounds. Unfortunately the rifle fell down and was collected by his 15 year old child,” the police report said.
Police say Daniel Maithya, the son of Munyao, picked his father’s gun and rushed to Miwngi police station in the company of his mother and sister.
“The child and his mother rushed to Mwingi Police Station where they reported the matter and handed over the rifle to officer in charge of in charge armoury. The officer followed them to the station and on inquiries it was established that the officer is based at GSU headquarters and had been in Mwingi since 19 August 2021,” the police report said in part.
