Bodaboda riders in Embu set school bus ablaze for killing colleague

Irate bodaboda riders set ablaze a school bus in Embu town after it allegedly hit and killed their colleague early this morning.

The riders said recently there has been reckless driving of school buses without following road rules.

The bus belonging to Lions School was on the way to pick pupils from residentials to school when the incident.

The driver had to run for his dear life following the incident.

The bus had no pupils during the time of the incident.

Kamiu sub-location sub chief Sammy Njagi said the accident happened near the Kenya Medical Training Centre in Embu town.

He said the bodaboda collided head-on with the bus and died on the spot .

Eye witnesses said the bodaboda was speeding and due to the sharpness of the corner near the KMTC he failed to control it.

They urged the government to see how they can work on that corners because many accidents have been occasioned by it.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Embu Level 5 hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

The wreckage of the school bus has been towed to Embu police station.
