Police are investigating an incident in which a 31-year-old woman killed her two-year-old daughter and committed suicide at the Deliverance area of Kitengela.

The woman identified as Jane Wairimu Macharia is said to have left a suicidal note claiming she was tired of her husband’s infidelity.

Reports indicate that on the fateful Monday, the husband left for work and the woman gave her house help an off day but later she and her daughter Paisley Kaluki Mutothya were found dead.

On Monday evening the house help returned upon completion of her off-hours but was forced to wait for Jane’s husband since she could not access the house which was locked from inside.

The house was later broken into and the body of the woman was found hanging in the birth room with a rope on her neck.

The baby girl was found on the couple’s matrimonial bed lying dead.

Confirming the incident Isinya sub-county police Commander Charles Chepkongā€™a says it was not immediately established how the killer mother ended the life of her daughter as she had no physical injuries.

He says the matter was reported by the husband and investigations into the incident have kicked off.
