EPRA announces new fuel prices

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory (EPRA) has released new fuel prices for the months of August to September.

In a statement EPRA made on Saturday, August 14, the regulatory body said the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene will remain unchanged for the next 30 days.

As of August 14. petrol will retail at Ksh127.14 while diesel will go for Ksh107.66 and kerosene at 97.85 in Nairobi and its environs.

In Mombasa, petrol will retail at Ksh124.72, diesel at Ksh105.27 while kerosene will sell at Ksh95.46.

In Nakuru, petrol will retail at Ksh126.75, diesel at Ksh107.55 and kerosene at Ksh97.76.

The price of diesel in Eldoret will retail at Ksh 108.46, petrol at Ksh126.67 and kerosene at 96.68.

In Kisumu, petrol will retail at 127.67, diesel Ksh 108.46 and kerosene at 98.68.

EPRA further stated that new prices are inclusive of 8% Value Added Tax (VAT) as was provided by the Finance Act 2018.

The Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020, and the reviewed rates for excise duty that were adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

From May, the prices of diesel and kerosene were constant while that of petroleum changed in June.
