Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko on Friday, August 6, penned a warm birthday message to Baby Kyla, a girl she met three years ago and committed himself to support her medication until she gains her sight.

In a message written on her Facebook Page, Sonko revealed that Baby Kyla is still under medication though she is able to see.

The recovery journey of Baby Kyla has been one of kind given that she has been in and out of India twice for medication.

“Today been your birthday I would like to wish you a happy and blessed 5th birthday filled with God’s blessings and favour. Happy Birthday, Baby Kyla,” Sonko wrote.

In his message, Sonko promised to continue supporting her through the journey to full recovery even as he expressed gratitude to God for restoring her sight.

“It’s been three years since we first met and through God, we’ve made sure you’ve been able to get the best medical attention,” Sonko said.

“We took you to India and back twice and God gifted you with your sight back. I know you still have a long journey to go through with your medical recovery. I will make sure we support you and see you through all this.  I will always be there for you and make sure you fulfil your dreams,” he added.

Baby Kyla was flown to India in 2018 where she was operated on and Sonko confirmed that she had gained her sight back.

Her mother had appealed for help before Sonko took up the task helped her.
