A warrant of arrest has been issued against a 42-year-old British national for calling his ex-wife a prostitute and threatening to kill her after she denied him access to his sons whom he came to visit from Turkey.
“Ismael Ossoble you’re charged that on June 15, 2021, in Westlands apartment house number 85E along Mpaka road within Westlands sub-county without lawful excuse uttered words to with “I will kill this lady Ilham Gasser prostitute mother of my kids “which words were directed towards the said Ilham Gasser thus a threat to kill her” read the charge sheet.
The accused, who is out on a police bond of Ksh15,000t, failed to turn up to the court to plead to the charges.
Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe Kamau issued a warrant of arrest against him and ordered the police bond to be forfeited to the state.
According to a police report on June 19, 2021, a report of threatening to kill was filed at Gigiri Police Station by Ilham Gasser, an employee of United Nations headquarters.
She reported that she was receiving calls from unknown numbers which upon picking the calls she realized it was her ex -Husband who was speaking and he threatened to kill her over the phone.
The suspect continued with the threats until the complainant decided to seek police assistance.
According to Ismael Ossoble, he came to Kenya on May 19, 2021, from Turkey to pick his son as agreed with the ex-wife while he was in Turkey.
He divorced his wife on July 25, 2019. He says since the divorce, he has been communicating with his sons through the mother’s phone until she blocked him after arriving in Kenya.
He said he was forced to use strange numbers to communicate with his sons.
The case will be mentioned on August 10, 2021.
