A four-year –old child, who underwent an operation to remove a brain tumor at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital ( KTRH) has been detained at the Facility over a Ksh 2 million unpaid bill.

Faith Moraa, who is partially paralyzed was admitted at the hospital six months ago and her father, Stephen Misoka a water vendor in Kisii town is unable the raise the money.

Moraa’s father said the daughter who was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU) , improved and was transferred to the General Ward, adding that he only managed to pay Ksh. 130,000 from his savings out of the Ksh. 2 million needed.

The water vendor, who hails from South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County, said Doctors want Moraa discharged to recover from home while attending physiotherapy clinics at the facility until she fully recovers.

“Doctors recommended that we take her to India for further treatment if her condition deteriorates,. I feel hopeless,” Misoka told K24 Digital yesterday.

He appealed to well wishers to assist him in footing the bill, adding that he has been unable work after his daughter was admitted in hospital.

Misoka revealed that it has been expensive for his family to have their firstborn daughter staying in the hospital after the surgery, stressing that the bill would create more stress and anxiety in the family.

He noted that his wife, Christine Moragwa and himself juggle between caring for their two-year- old daughter and visiting Moraa at the hospital, noting they are straining and it is stressing them given that the bill is accumulating.

Misoka said that his daughter’s sickness has affected his business and that he has exhausted the family’s resources in a bid to ensure that his daughter recovers and grows up like other children to exploit her full potential.
