One person was burnt to death after he allegedly set his house on fire on Tuesday morning.

Abdalla Mohammed, a resident of Kombani area in Kwale County, burnt beyond recognition in the dawn inferno that destroyed property of unknown value.

Confirming the incident, Kwale County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri said Mohammed’s actions put the lives of his neighbours at risk.

“There are other five houses in the compound, but fortunately all his neighbours are safe,” he said.

The deceased’s neighbours managed to put out the fire on time before it spread to other houses.

According to his neighbours, Mohammed, 64, has been battling an unknown disease for the past three months.
