Nine days after one of the most wanted fugitive policewomen Caroline Kangogo is still missing, veteran lawyer John Khaminwa has urged the cop to surrender before she wound up dead.

“I urge her to turn herself into our law firm (Khaminwa Law firm) as we are ready and willing to represent her. It is in her best interest that she should receive the full protection of the law assisted by the Law Society of Kenya and by our law firm,” Khaminwa said.

Speaking to K24 Digital, Khaminwa has since offered to represent Kangogo once she surrenders either to his law firm branch offices in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Malindi or to the police.

He says that the officer who is alleged to have killed two of her colleagues should not be arrested in any circumstances at all.

“If it becomes necessary for the police to interrogate her, they will do so without arresting her and if the police intend to take any other action against her in law they are allowed to do so,” Khaminwa told K24 Digital.

The lawyer further pleaded with Kangogo to surrender all the weapons she is said to be possessing to either his law firm offices or the police.

“There are allegations she shot two people; she may not be the one. She has not given us her side of the story. She may be sick and needs medication,” the lawyer added.

The lawyer also intends to move to court seeking orders restraining the police from arresting Kangogo who is on the run.

The officer is wanted to help in the ongoing investigations into the murder of her fellow officer in Nakuru and a businessman in Juja.

Currently, an elite multi-agency team comprising the police, the military and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been enlisted in the hunt for the fugitive cop.
