Two used condoms and an alcohol wrapper were recovered at the scene of crime where the body of the late Sharon Otieno was discovered.

Addressing the court yesterday, crime scene investigations officer, Chief Inspector Lillian Saka said the items were recovered in Kodera Forest by Inspector Mary Mugire from Oyugis Police Station who later handed them over to her.

The items were Adidas stained trousers, a stained jacket, flowered bra, open shoes which were blue in color, two used condoms, condom wrappers and an alcohol wrapper.

“I took a total of 29 photographs at Kodera. One of the photographs showed a pool of blood where Sharon’s body lay, a shoe impression, a condom wrapper and a bottle top,” Saka told presiding judge Cecilia Githua.

However, Obado’s lawyer interjected Saka after her submission, asking the detective if any finger prints were lifted from the exhibits found at the scene of crime.

In her response, Saka told the court that she was not the first officer at the scene of crime having arrived at Homa Bay two days after Sharon’s body was discovered.

“I was accompanied by an officer from Homabay, Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor and another pathologist and family representatives …my role was to document the postmortem process,” Saka told the court.

Saka who reconstructed and documented the scene of crime produced a photo exhibit in court which showed one of the suspects, Michael Oyamo in company of Sharon at Graca Hotel.

Sharon’s father Douglas Otieno, sat quietly, following the proceeding, sometimes holding his chin, as he looked at the photos being displayed in a big screen set up in the tent where the proceedings are taking place.

Saka who was the second prosecution witness to testify in the murder case said that she documented over 200 photos at Kodera Forest where the body of the deceased was found and Oyugis police station.

The court was also shown Lela Road which is the main road of Homabay to Rongo where a witness in protective custody in company of the late Sharon, had jumped from a moving vehicle.

Obado was in 2018 charged alongside his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Casper Obiero, a clerk in Migori with the murder of Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno and her unborn child.

At the time of her death, Sharon was allegedly seven months pregnant and was in a relationship with Governor Obado who was reportedly the father to the unborn baby.
