The autopsy results of a 22-year-old Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) student, who was found dead in her rented house in Kakamega Town last Sunday, have been released.

The postmortem results show that Fauzia Adan Ibrahim died from excessive bleeding after procuring an abortion. She was found by her college mates lying in a pool of blood on Sunday.

The Third Year Bachelor of Disaster Management student was two months pregnant when she fatally attempted to terminate the embryo.

A postmortem conducted on the deceased on Monday, July 22, showed that parts of the embryo were still attached to her womb, when she died.

Kakamega Central OCPD, David Kabena, said Fauzia’s parents, who hail from Kenya’s North Eastern region, arrived at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital morgue on Monday evening and took her body.

Friends of the Late Fauzia said she looked weakly in the three days preceding her death.
