Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro now says the self-christened Hustler Nation political group will be welcoming more leaders from the larger Mt Kenya region to its team.
Taking to his Facebook page to make the revelations, Nyoro claimed a huge section of the Mt Kenya Governors, MPs and Senators support Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
According to the MP, several of those leaders including Cabinet and Permanent Secretaries have been engaging the Hustlers’ Nation behind the scenes and that they will soon make public their stand.
“Almost all Governors from Mt Kenya Region are Hustlers – we talk frequently. We are also in talks with several Cabinet Secretaries, PSs and other High ranking government officials with political ambitions. Almost all sitting MPs and Senators from Mt Kenya region except just like 5 are Hustler Nation – they are where they are during the day for obvious reasons,” he said.
According to Nyoro, many leaders will by August Join the TangaTanga group given that their presence in Government and Jubilee party is dangerous to their political future.
Nyoro claims despite intimidation by government mercenaries, many leaders remain ardent supporters of the DP Ruto’s 2022 bid.
“. Expect more major Transfers by August. Even some Governors are now getting restless. The regime has tattered our Economy, and intimidated Leaders but “they will know they don’t know,” he added.
His sentiments came minutes after Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchombi officially defected from the Kieleweke faction of the Jubilee Party to the TangaTanga political faction.
This is after she met DP Ruto at his official residence in Karen where the deal was sealed.
Her defection served a blow to the ruling Jubilee party that is seeking to rebrand itself ahead of the forthcoming General Elections.
Nyeri Town MP Wambugu Ngunjiri is among the MPs who took to social media to express their disappointment following Wamuchomba’s exit from Kieleweke side.
“As things stand I will not be surprised if we lose another one or two more valuable players. We have some heavy lifting ahead to fix our party and not everyone will want to do it.,” Ngunjiri said.
TangaTanga leaders who defected from the Kieleweke side are expected to officially join United Democratic Alliance (UDA) that is associated with DP Ruto.
Most of them are currently running the agenda of the UDA party as they, according to sources, wait for an opportune time to officially announce their exit from Jubilee.
