Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has confessed that he has consumed all sorts of drugs including cocaine and heroin.

Speaking in an interview with blogger Robert Alai, Babu Owino noted that there is no drug he has not come across in his life. He however explained that he no longer abuses drugs.

“In my life, there is nothing I haven’t consumed. I have consumed soft drugs, moderate drugs, and the hardest of drugs. Bhang is a hard drug because it can bring insanity when done in excess. I have also done cocaine, I have done heroin. I have done a lot of drugs. Every brand of alcohol,” Babu noted.

The MP further stated that he quit taking alcohol since it had taken a toll on him leading him to bad decisions.

“I have been taking alcohol. It’s only that now I don’t consume it because it gave me a lot of energy which I used in the wrong way,” he added.

When asked about his take on illicit brews, Babu encouraged Kenyans to embrace them as they bring people together.

“When it comes to these traditional brews, they should be embraced,” he noted.

Mid last year, Babu took to his social media to reveal that he had quit alcohol, a substance he admits he started consuming at a tender age.

“At around eight years, I tasted chang’aa. I did it because it was what everyone was doing around, and it was the normal thing to do. Out of influence, I had to take chang’aa. Since then I have been taking alcohol,” Babu said.
