No resting in peace? Mother exhumes body of one of the ‘Kitengela Four’ victims

Police in Kisumu have revealed that Caroline Obuong, the mother of Elijah Obuong whose decomposing body was found days after he was reported missing exhumed her sons’ body in a night operation.

According to an OB report number OB:8/2/06/2021 seen by K24 Digital, Caroline Obuong is said to have led a team of six others in exhuming the body of the deceased identified as Elijah Obuong who was buried three weeks ago.

“A group of seven people suspected to be from Uyoma Siaya county came in hearse reg: number not known and invaded the home of Daniel Obudi Ogago of mobile no 0715606869 a resident of Holo village West Songhor sub-location and illegally exhumed the body of Elijah Obuong a nephew to Daniel Obudi who was buried on 13/05/2021,” the OB report said.

While confirming the incident, Kisumu County commander Samwel Anampiu said the motive of the mission is still unknown.

The commander said that the woman and the team are said to be from Uyoma in Siaya County. “Our officers from Koru Police station are dealing with this matter that is still under investigation,” Anampiu said.

They later re-buried the coffin and wrapped it with a polythene bag before driving to an unknown destination.

The incident occurred in Holo village in West Songhor, Chemelil Sub- County.
