Popular Kisii gospel artist Christopher Nyangwara Mosioma commonly known as Embarambabmba has defended himself after Kenyans on social media cast doubt on his status as a born-again christian.

This is after a video recording of him dancing with a woman, who is yet to be identified, in a compromising situation went viral on social media.

In a 45-minute video accessed by K24 Digital, the artist has urged Kenyans not to judge him harshly.

“Wakenya wamenihukumu, Wakenya wamenitusi, mafans wangu wamekasirika wanasema mimi ni shetani sijaokoka( Kenyans have judged me, they have abused me, my fans are annoyed and they now say I am not born again),” he said.

The artist defended himself saying the context of the dance move mirrors the content of the song.

According to Embarambamba, the song warns against sexual immorality and therefore his performance is in tandem with the message.

“Lakini ile kitu nataka niambie wakenya ni kwamba, kabla haujacomment, angalia the statement of the song ambayo inasema umetoa wapi upusi ya kufanya hivi vitu ya upusi wapi (What I want to say is that before you comment on the video footage assess the statement of the song which criticizes sexual immorality),” he added.

Embarambamba’s performance with the woman attracted the attention of Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua who said; “Embarambamba…that’s gross You have crossed the line!”

The Kisii artist is known for his unique dance moves that are always characterised by up and down movements, rolling in the mud and at times dangling on the cow’s back.
