A man has been charged at Milimani Law courts for allegedly forging burial permit of a man identified as Mutisya Musyoka. Musyoka whom he claimed to be his nephew is still alive .
Solomon Kithuka Chalo is alleged that on October 5, 2020 at unknown place jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud, forged a permit for burial issued by Kathiani location chief.
“On October 8, 2020 at unknown place within republic of Kenya with others not before the court, the accused with the intent to defraud forged certain documents namely Jubilee Insurance certificate of the attending Physician under the names of Mutisya Musyoka purporting it to be a genuine document signed by Dr R Kariuki of Kathiani Mission Hospital in Machakos County,” the charge sheet read.
The court also heard that on November 30, 2020 the accused person at Jubilee house along Wabera street in Nairobi within Nairobi County by means of fraudulent tricks induced Jubilee Life Insurance limited to pay a sum Ksh 230,000 to him by falsely pretending that his nephew Mutisya Musyoka holder of Family Shield cover NoIL202001880986 had died.
According to police OB, Mutisya claims he has no blood relationship with the accused person and that he was only introduced to him by his younger brother.
Mutisya also states that he has never taken any insurance cover for himself and that he has never been informed by anyone that has insurance of any category.
The accused pleaded not guilty before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and was released on a cash-bail of ksh300,000.
