By Loice Wambugu,

Four students of Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls’ High School in Nyeri County have tested positive for coronavirus.

Nyeri County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara on Thursday, March 11, said that 23 other students have also been quarantined at the school.

Two of the four students who tested positive for Covid-19 had been allowed to travel home earlier this week after they fell ill.

The two others, Kibaara said, were among four tested after they exhibited coronavirus symptoms and are now receiving treatment at Othaya Annex Hospital.

However, the Nyeri administrator assured parents and the public that health officials have been dispatched to the school to check on the quarantined students.

Meanwhile, 400 health workers based in Nyeri have received the Covid-19 vaccine.
