Hundreds of youth who turned for the ongoing Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) recruitment in Kwale County were in for an unexpected attack from a formidable force.

On Thursday, February 18, the recruits numbering about 500 were given a lesson in defense tactics by the KDF soldiers after a swarm of bees attacked them.

In an amateur video circulating on social media, the recruits were captured taking defensive positions, lying down to make themselves small targets, on command from the experienced recruiters.

One of the KDF officers was shouting to the recruits to lie down as some of them, feeling a bit helpless, took to screaming.

Wewe ambia huyo mtu alale nje, toka nje [Tell that person to lie down, get out, get out,]” a KDF soldier is heard shouting.

Two of the recruits, however, obeyed their primal instinct to run but still angered the bees as they tried to swat them with sweaters.

But the recruiters kept their cool before the 500 youth who turned up for the exercise.

What to do in a bee attack: 5 things you need to know.
