Seemingly fed-up with his deputy’s constant criticism of their government, President Uhuru Kenyatta has dared his rebel assistant, William Ruto, to resign.

Speaking while commissioning two hospitals built by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) in Nairobi on Friday, February 12, President Kenyatta faulted Deputy President (DP) Ruto over his berating of a government he is still a part of.

“On the hand you keep saying the government is bad and on the other the government has done this and that,” said the Head of State, accusing Ruto of being two-faced.

Kenyatta’s wrath seemed to have been sparked by Ruto’s repeated claims that the Building Bridges Initiative has replaced Jubilee’s Big Four Agenda yet the DP keeps taking credit for completed government projects.

“We are either together or we are apart. You cannot come and take credit and then at the same time insult those you are together with,” said Kenyatta.

The Jubilee Party said that DP Ruto should be more respectful and choose which side he wants to be on.

“If we respect one another, Kenya will be peaceful. You can’t keep on dividing people,” said the President.

Kenyatta commissioned Uthiru Health Centre and Kiamako Health Centre, two medical facilities built by the Maj-Gen Mohamed Badi-led NMS.

The NMS took over key functions of the Nairobi County government during the chaotic leadership of the now-impeached Governor Mike Sonko.

Sonko was forced to relinquish his roles after the Anti-Corruption Court barred him from holding office pending the hearing and determination of his graft case.
