By Franklin Wallah,

Mike Sonko, the embattled former Nairobi governor, is back in court less than three hours after detectives who had gone to pick him up at Gigiri Police Station were informed that he had been rushed to Nairobi Hospital.

The detectives insisted that Sonko must honour his court date at the Kiambu Law Courts for his bail ruling application.

When they reached the Nairobi Hospital, the detectives, according to confidential sources, said Sonko’s condition was not serious enough to warrant him skipping his court case.

Speaking to K24 Digital, Cliff Ombeta, one of Sonko’s lawyers said that the former governor was taken to court in a hospital ambulance.

Ombeta said that the ambulance came equipped with a doctor and a nurse who are capable of handling whatever medical issues that may arise since Sonko is suffering from several ailments, including high blood pressure.

Sonko was expected to be at the Kiambu Law Courts at about 11 am and later to be taken to the Kahawa Law Courts for his alleged terror case.
