The ruling Jubilee Party has expelled six rebel members, chief among them nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and Milicent Omanga.
In a communication by the National Management Committee, the party said the expulsion takes effect immediately and has been communicated to the Senate and the Registrar of Political Parties.
The four other nominated senators who have also been expelled over disciplinary issues are: Mary Yiane, Prengei Victor, Iman Falhada Dekow and Waqo Naomi Jilo.
“The National Management Committee of the Jubilee Party met today and deliberated on reports submitted by the Party Disciplinary Committee with respect to senators who have appeared before them this year and last year on disciplinary violations as per Article 13 of the Party Constitution,” said the party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju in his letter written on Monday, February 8.
