Detectives in Meru have launched a manhunt for a boda boda rider who allegedly defiled a minor.
In a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the boda boda rider defiled the eight-year-old in his house before dropping her off near her home.
“The suspect had offered the girl a ride to her home at Baibariu in Igembe South but along the way diverted to his house where he committed the wicked act,” the report read in part.
“He later dropped the helpless minor near their homestead before [going] into hiding,” it further read.
The victim is currently receiving medical attention at a local hospital.
This comes just a day after a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer was arraigned for defiling a minor who is also his relative.
