The attempt by former State House digital strategist, Dennis Itumbi, to sue Interior minister Fred Matiang’i over alleged irregular payment of Ksh1.5 billion for Ruaraka land has backfired.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti ruled Friday that Itumbi’s application lacked legal merit.

Itumbi wanted to sue Matiang’i as a private applicant.

The digital strategist argued that Matiang’i, an Education minister at the time, oversaw the Ksh1.5 billion payment, yet the land — according to registry — belonged to Government.
