Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso returned to the country yesterday morning from India, where she has been receiving treatment for about a month.
Laboso left the country on May 29 for the UK, where she received medication for a while before being transferred to India.
Her return ends weeklong speculations among residents over her condition.
Bomet County Assembly Leader of Majority Josphat Kirui announced the governor’s return on his social media pages, adding that she would not resume duty immediately as she will continue with medication in Nairobi.
Last Monday, the governor’s office issued a statement in which Laboso assured residents that services would be delivered smoothly even in her absence.
