Huge fires have destroyed large parts of Kenya’s Tsavo National Park over the last few weeks, putting wildlife and vegetation at risk.

The latest fire started over the weekend and is suspected to have been lit by arsonists, according to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).

The authorities have deployed the military to support fire fighters who are battling to put out the fire.

The military is using helicopters to pour water on the blaze.

Hundreds of volunteers from nearby communities have also been called in to help.

Police are tracking down the suspected arsonists, KWS said in a statement.

The park is the country’s largest national park and a big draw for tourists.

The fires have been raging for weeks in dry conditions.

KWS has tweeted a photo of volunteers battling the fire:
