President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday, June 6 extended the cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi, Mombasa and Mandera counties by another 30 days to “curb the spread of coronavirus”.

The president, however, lifted travel restrictions into and out of Kilifi and Kwale counties. Residents of Old Town in Mombasa and Eastleigh area in Nairobi will also be allowed to move into and out of the estates from Sunday, June 7.

President Kenyatta said he arrived at the decisions after receiving advice from Health officials, who are monitoring the trajectory of COVID-19 in Kenya.
