Mvita MP installs 50 sanitation booths as his hard-hit constituency reels from Covid-19

In a bid to keep the people of Mvita in Mombasa County from Covid-19, the local MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir installed public sanitation booths across the constituency.

Mvita Constituency is one of the hardest-hit regions by Covid-19 in the country.

The booths, numbering about 50, were installed in strategic public areas near bus stops, estate entrances and near the entrance to the main Island which falls under Mvita Constituency.

The MP told K24 Digital that there are plans to install more booths in schools and places of worship once they are reopened.

Mombasa County has also installed water tanks in public places across Mvita Constituency for the residents to wash their hands regularly as directed by the Ministry of Health.

According to the Health Ministry, Mvita leads in the number of persons who have contracted coronavirus in Mombasa County, with Old Town area having the highest number.
