Healthcare workers in Trans-Nzoia County have begun the tracing of persons who came into contact with a 15-year-old girl, who has tested positive for coronavirus.
The teenager is said to have travelled from Mombasa to her parents’ rural home in Botwa Village, Karara area in Trans-Nzoia East. It remains unclear how the girl managed to flout the 21-day travel restriction.
Health officials in Trans-Nzoia told K24 Digital that the girl confessed to having interacted closely with her two brothers, who have since been placed under mandatory quarantine at Kitale Level 4 Hospital.
The healthcare workers have also traced six of the siblings’ neighbours, who have also been taken to quarantine.
As of Saturday noon (May 23), further contact-tracing in Botwa Village was underway.
