Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina is the new chairman of the powerful County Public Accounts and Investments Committee.
Senator Ole Kina will be deputized by Kiambu Senator Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
The fiery Orange Democratic Movement senator trounced Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri, garnering five votes to his rival’s four.
Speaking to K24 Digital on Monday after his election, Ole Kina said that his first task as the CPAIC chairman will be to put the counties in order.
For his rival Ongeri, this was the second time luck was not on his side to chair the powerful watchdog committee that oversees county governments and their executives.
Among those who were proposed to be members of CPAIC are Senators Mithika Lithuri (Meru), Hargura Godana (Marsabit) Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu) and Milicent Omanga.
Others are Ochillo Ayacko (Migori) and Johnes Mwaruma of Taita Taveta.
