Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and singer Akothee are set to get Sh50,000 cash windfall each courtesy of their Covid-19 awareness messages.

On Monday, Kenya Film Classification Board chief executive Ezekiel Mutua said the two are the winners of the most creative piece of art in raising awareness on Covid-19.

“Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and sons are the winners of the most creative piece of art in raising awareness on COVID-19. Esther Akoth alias Akothee takes the trophy for the most improved artist in Kenya. Her online messages and content of late are very inspiring. 50k for both!,” said Dr. Mutua on social media.

The youthful Nairobi senator on March 28 published a video featuring his two sons urging Kenyans to follow government directives on social distancing and maintain high hygiene standards to ward off Covid-19.

The Twitter video has since been viewed 194,000 times and retweeted nearly 4,000 times as well as received 13,000 likes.

Further, the video has been shared virally on Facebook and WhatsApp, reaching millions of Kenyans.
