A 22-year-old man from Kyeng’athi Village in Nziuni area, Machakos County has been arrested on suspicion of committing bestiality with a neighbour’s cow.
The suspect allegedly killed the animal after the incident, Nyumba Kumi Initiative chairperson Lydia Nthambi said.
Nthambi told K24 Digital that the suspect’s underwear was found next to the cow’s carcass in a forest in Kyeng’athi Village.
The owner of the cow, Jane Katunge, told K24 Digital that her domestic animal was stolen from her compound on Wednesday night.
“It was found today (Thursday, April 16) dead in a forest near a river in Kyeng’athi. Its body was filled with cut injuries, which we believe were inflicted using a kitchen knife. There was evidence that its genitals had been penetrated,” said Katunge.
Angry neighbours stormed the suspect’s house and beat him up with the aim of forcing him to confess, which he did.
Before they could lynch him, police arrived at the scene and rescued the man.
It is alleged that two years ago, the suspect was arrested for committing bestiality with a sheep.
The said-offender is being held at a Nziuni police post.
