Man beats wife to death after catching her in bed with lover

A 52-year-old man from Nyamagana Village in Ukerewe District, Mwanza Region in Tanzania is receiving treatment in hospital after he attempted suicide shortly after killing his wife on April 10.

Pastory Majura stabbed himself in the stomach using a kitchen knife after he beat up his wife, Amisuata James, to death for catching her in bed with another man.

Majura found his spouse, 52, engaging in sexual intercourse with her paramour at 4am on their matrimonial.

The victim succumbed to injuries from the beating, whereas the suspect was rushed to Ukerewe Hospital by neighbours while bleeding profusely.

Police say the deceased’s lover managed to escape when Majura arrived home unexpectedly.

Azam Television quotes Mwanza police boss as saying that the suspect will be arraigned once he is discharged from hospital.
