Policemen filmed fighting with traders over bribe arrested

Two policemen, an Administration Police and General Duty officers, who were filmed fighting with traders demanding a bribe have been arrested.

Police sources said the duo was arrested on Monday night and taken to the Mombasa regional headquarters.

The AP officer had been assigned the Land Cruiser to attend a burial in Kilifi County where he was to enforce Government rules on social distancing.

But a video of the officer and his colleague emerged online showing the two fighting with boda boda riders who were ferrying charcoal over an unpaid bribe.

The incident is said to have taken place in Magarini, Kilifi County.

In the video that since been circulated widely on social media, the AP is seen menacingly demanding money from the boda boda riders whose motorcycles he had had just kicked over.
