CHAN Draw: Bien set to perform at KICC during CAF’s grand event

Kenyan multitalented singer and songwriter Bien Aimé Alusa Baraza is set to perform at the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) final draw on Wednesday night, January 25, 2025, from 8 pm at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The football event is set to bring together Africa’s biggest national teams and star players.

Taking to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) official Instagram handle, the organisers of the CHAN final draw announced that apart from Bien, Uganda’s famous dance group, Triplets Ghetto Kids will also be lighting up the stage during the final draw.

The event will be graced by several dignitaries led by President William Ruto and CAF President Patrice Motsepe.

Bien has been riding high ever since Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol members decided to do solo projects.

CHAN final draw

The draw will start at 8:00 pm however, the actual tournament has been postponed to August this year. Initially, it had been scheduled to be played in February.

Senegal, the defending champions and Morocco, two-time CHAN winners, are among the countries that will participate in the tournament.

The 2024 CHAN tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, in the final draw, the co-hosts will be automatically seeded as A1, B1, and C1, respectively during the draw. The remaining teams have been seeded based on their performances in the previous three editions of CHAN in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

Morocco and reigning champions Senegal are in Pot 1 while in Pot 2 there are Guinea, Zambia, Madagascar, Rwanda, and Sudan. Pot 3 contains Mauritania, Niger, Congo, Angola, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The draw ceremony will feature three African football legends, one from each co-hosting nation players considered legends from East Africa; Hassan Wasswa of Uganda, Tanzania’s Mrisho Ngasa and McDonald Mariga of Kenya.
