Church wall collapsed
The latest comes months after a similar incident where a church wall under construction in the Nyatike sub-county in Migori collapsed killing one a congregant with the Maranatha Faith Assembly Church and four others sustained injuries.
According to Area Assistant Chief Richard Juma, the church services had just ended when the incident that occurred on Sunday, April 28, 2024, happened.
The deputy chief reported that the man passed away on the scene, while the injured were quickly taken to Migori Level Four Hospital for medical care.
Preliminary investigations indicated the ongoing heavy rains might have contributed to the collapse of the building.
